June 13th Report
Well it looks like things are starting to heat up along the West Van shoreline for hatchery coho. Increasing numbers of coho are being hooked every day. These fish are not exceptionally large but they are great table fare and pretty scrappy fish. Mixed in with the coho there has been the odd legal and undersized chinook. This fishery should continue to gather steam this month. The key to catching these coho is to speed up your trolling speed. The Gulf Islands have started to show some more life after a tough stretch of fishing mid week. The chinooks that have been hooked on that side have been towards the Five Fingers. Fishing should start to pick up with the passing of the full moon and the continued build up of coho in West Van and the Big Squamish Chinook that will be showing soon.
