Weekend Update June 22
Fishing remained productive locally over the weekend! There were some nice coho and the odd chinook caught off West Vancouver. The Fraser Mouth slowed right down on Saturday as a pod of killer whales came charging through on Friday. The Five Fingers were really good on Friday and Saturday with a few fish over 30 pounds caught, including a 37 pounder.
The second half of June has had some amazing days so far. It is likely that the Fraser Mouth will pick back up now that the killer whales moved on. Howe Sound is starting to perk up a bit with the arrival of the first Squamish River chinook. West Vancouver should continue to see more waves of coho and increasing numbers of big chinook.
