JULY 24 FISHING UPDATE
Well there has been some gigantic tides over the last few days. Fishing was pretty tough on the ebb, ok on the flood, and quite good on the tide changes over the last fews. We managed to pick up coho on every trip out over the last few days. We even had a double header on sockeye on Wednesday, unfortunately they had to be released as we are still waiting for the announcement of a recreational opening. Yesterday evening a few nice chinook salmon rolled into the Cap mouth and a couple nice ones were boated. The tides are settling starting on Saturday so we should see the action pick up. There have been continued good reports of some big chinook salmon over on the Gulf Islands. There have been a few pink salmon caught this week as well. We should see our local fishery start gather more steam this week with better tides and more fish approaching local waters. It should be anytime that we should see the first big push of Big Fraser Chinook into local waters.
