Vancouver Fishing Update…Mar 23/10
Well after a few weeks of slow fishing, Howe Sound is starting to show some good signs of life. Decent numbers of chinook up to 18 pounds have been getting caught on a consistent basis over the last week. We fished for a few hours yesterday afternoon in Howe Sound and hooked and landed a couple scrappy chinook around 24 inches. We also lost a very respectable fish in the 14-16 pound range right behind the boat. Last year there was some really good fishing in Howe Sound in late March and April…it looks like things are following a similar pattern. April is typically one of the best months to fish for chinook salmon in the Vancouver area. The South Side of Bowen Island, Vancouver Harbour, and Howe Sound are all good bets this time of year!
