Vancouver BC Fishing Charters

Well this has been an incredible stretch  of fishing over the last few weeks.  The Fraser River Sockeye run has been way betterthan expected!!  30 million fish are expecteded to hit the river in August and September.  We have definately seen some incredible catches over the last couple weeks with lots of charters limiting out in very short order!  There has been the odd slower tide where we have had to work for our fish, but that is to be expected in fishing!  It looks like the sockeye should continue to provide some great action for us for the next week or two!

Once sockeye slow down the good fishing will continue with our big chinook salmon fishery off West Vancouver in September and October.  This is one of our favourite fisheries as it is typically very consistent for big chinook salmon in the 15-40 pound range and it is only 10 minutes from our dock location at the Westin Bayshore.  We are expecting a great fishery this year as we will see the first returns of mature chinook salmon from our net pen project that our local guides association has been involved with!!

Well the sockeye fishing has been absolutely phenomenal!!!  We have had excellent success this week with big numbers of sockeye on every trip.  We have been averaging 20-40 hook ups a trip with lots of trips coming back with full limits.  We have been fishing the Fraser Mouth for the most part but there has been a few good days in the harbour as well.  There has been a few nice chinooks in the mix as well, although we are not targetting them too much as the sockeye fishing has been so good!  Give us a call to experience some of the best action Vancouver has seen for years!!

The last couple days have been outstanding for sockeye.  We have had lots of hook ups of the Fraser Mouth.  Bon Chovy had a great morning today limiting out in a few hours!!   This fishery should continue to be solid for a couple more weeks to come as the run has not peaked yet…Give us a call if you want to experience one of the most active fisheries Vancouver has going!

Well the sockeye salmon fishing has definately caught FIRE over the last couple days.  We have had some amazing action with lots of sockeye being caught.  We have averaged 10-20 hook ups a trip over the last couple days.  In the mix there has been the odd big chinook salmon as well!  We have had our best success running pink hootchies off the Mouth of the Fraser River.  This fishery should be strong for the next few weeks!  NOW is the time to experience some of the best action of the year!

WELL AFTER 4 YEARS, SOCKEYE SALMON IS NOW OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RUN IS TRACKING VERY WELL AND WE ARE EXPECTING VERY GOOD NUMBERS OF FISH TO HIT THE FRASER!  THE TEST SETS OFF THE WEST COAST OF VANCOUVER ISLAND HAVE BEEN VERY STRONG OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS SO WE SHOULD SEE SOME VERY GOOD FISHING IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS!  THE RUN SHOULD BE STRONG TILL EARLY SEPTEMBER IF THE DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES AND OCEANS KEEPS THINGS OPEN.

THE FRASER MOUTH IS TYPICALLY THE BEST BET FOR SOCKEYE.  THE LIGHT SHIP, CRAB POT BAY, THE T10 MARKER AND THE BELL BOY/NORTH ARM ARE ALL GOOD BETS.  A SLOW TROLL WITH PINK HOOTCHIES IS TYPICALLY BEST. 

WE HAVE HAD SOME SOLID RESULTS ON COHO AND CHINOOK THIS WEEK AS WELL.  THE BIGGEST FISH OF THE WEEK WAS A 28 POUND CHINOOK SALMON.  IT WAS CAUGHT RIGHT IN FRONT OF STANLEY PARK IN 35 FEET OF WATER AS WELL!!  WE HAD A COUPLE GOOD DAYS ON CHINOOKS OFF THE FRASER MOUTH AND THE GULF ISLANDS THIS WEEK.

NOW IS THE TIME TO GET OUT THERE AND GO FISHING….THERE IS A COUPLE REALLY GOOD FISHERIES GOING ON RIGHT NOW!!
