Vancouver Fishing Report, Nov 17/2012

Iron Marlin fished Howe Sound yesterday and today with pretty dismal results.  Yesterday the weather was nice with favourable fishing conditions.  We fished the usual spots on the backside of Bowen and got totally blanked on salmon.  Today, the weather was so inclement that we only fished for an hour before we decided to call it a day.  There was some decent fish in Howe Sound last week, but based on our experience over the last couple days and our associates reports earlier in the week, the fish have moved on for now.  The Gulf Island's have had some good reports this week with some nice fish up to 17 pounds and lots of undersize. Winter chinook fishing will pick up in December in Vancouver Harbour as per usual.  The freighters, West Vancouver, Jericho and the Bell Buoy will all be good bets next month.  Spoons and hootchies fished near the bottom in 80 to 120 feet of water are typically very effective.  Look for bait as the fish are usually not far behind it.   The nice thing about winter chinook fishing is it only a 5 to 10 minute run from Granville Island! Give us a call to book a winter chinook charter!   The Christmas Holidays are always a good bet for winter chinook salmon and dungeness crabs!   Tight Lines Jason and Jeff                       604 763 5460     Vancouver Fishing
