Vancouver Salmon Fishing Report, February 23rd

This last week has been a challenging one for weather and for winter chinook fishing.   We had a few trips out this week and the results we had in Vancouver Harbour were not great.    Iron Marlin was out both days this weekend and was only able to hook one good fish   There was quite a few boats out yesterday and most boats reported pretty poor results.   There has been a lack of bait around over the last couple weeks and this is likely one of the reasons why the salmon fish has been tough. We have not had a chance to fish Howe Sound much over the last couple weeks as the outflow winds have made things pretty nasty up that way.   With the weather looking like it is going to start to moderate , we will be able to look a little further to try and find some better numbers of fish.    If the weather cooperates tomorrow, we are going to explore a little bit to see if we can find some better numbers of fish outside of Vancouver Harbour Please stop by our new Gibbs-Delta Pro Shop on Granville Island.  We have a dialed in selection of all the gear you need to target winter chinook in local waters.   We also have the most up to date saltwater fishing information in town.  Our shop address is 1814 Mast Tower Road.....We are right across from the Lobsterman and Finest at Sea.
