Vancouver Fishing Report - September 2020After a long wait, Vancouver area anglers have lots of options to take advantage of. With virtually all the traditional Vancouver salmon fishing areas now open and subject to full retention, September is shaping up to be the most anticipated month of the year. There certainly has been some good waves of chinook coming into local waters, but there has also been some tough tides where we have had to work for our bites. The slower days have often followed visits from salmon eating killer whales. The Gulf Island’s are still producing a few fish, but most anglers are now focusing on the local Vancouver waters.

Great weather and productive salmon fishing!Over the last number of years, May has definitely proven to be one of the best times for chinook salmon fishing in the Vancouver area, this is May is no different! Despite the regulation changes, we are enjoying solid catch and release fishing for chinook (until July 15th) in all of the usual spring spots. We have been successful sending our guests home with some dungeness crabs and on some of our longer charters ling cod and spot prawns! We have seen the odd early coho salmon as well. The DFO is forecasting a strong return of coho this year, so we are hopeful that we will see excellent coho fishing like we saw last June off the South End of Bowen Island and the Gulf Island's!
