November 2025 Fishing Update

After a very good summer season, the days are getting shorter and temperatures are cooling!     Vancouver anglers enjoyed some EXCELLENT fishing off the Fraser Mouth in September with excellent numbers of big chinook around and promising numbers of coho also present.    It is now early November er and we are now switching our focus to WINTER CHINOOK SALMON, one of our favorite fisheries of the year.    We will be targeting these fish all winter long in Vancouver and from our Vancouver Island location in Sidney.

In Vancouver, we have seen good numbers of 4 to 13 pound winter chinook in a few different areas already.    The Bell Buoy,  the North Arm and Howe Sound have all seen some very active days, an excellent sign for this winter.   These scrappy, chrome fish are usually fairly close to bottom feeding on herring this time of year.   Little 3.0 spoons are really good bets in the early winter chinook season.   The Bon Chovy G Force 3.0 and the Kingfisher Irish Cream are excellent spoons to try and focus on this time of year.

In Sidney, we have been finding a few nice winter chinook in the normal winter chinook spots.   Fishing will improve as usual in November with Hamley Point, the Powder Wharf and Coal Island being very good bets in the early winter.
