Late January Fishing Charter Update for Vancouver and Sidney

We have been enjoying an amazing stretch of weather over the past couple of weeks.   Calm weather and clear skies have made for some great days on the water in Vancouver and Sidney!

In Vancouver, we have been fishing English Bay and Howe Sound with pretty consistent action on most of our charters.     We are seeing quite a few undersized chinook mixed in with the odd big keeper up to 20 pounds.  The freighters and the Bell Buoy have been our most productive areas in English Bay, while the back side of Bowen and Gambier Islands have been the  most consistent areas.

Productive gear has included Yamashita Spackleback Hootchies and spoons such as the G-Force Bon Chovy  and Trailhead have been good in the 3.0 and 3.5 inch size.   February and March are typically solid months to go fishing for winter chinook salmon in Vancouver.   Crabbing has also picked up and we are dropping traps on most of our charters!

Sidney has also been productive on our charters in recent weeks.   We have been enjoying some good action only a few minutes from our dock location at Port Sidney Marina.  When the water has been calm,  we have ventured a little further out in to the Straits and been rewarded with some great results.  Skinny Gs and Coho Killers have been very good as usual.   Come visit us in Sidney, the fishing grounds are close and the waters are usually calm!

Tight lines and call or email us to book a winter charter!
