Spring Fishing Report for Vancouver and Sidney!

Spring is here and we have been enjoying some warm, productive days on the water in Vancouver and Sidney.      Our Vancouver Island location in Sidney, is open for hatchery chinook retention for the next few months.    In Vancouver, we are looking for some early coho salmon, releasing some nice chinook in Vancouver Harbour and Howe Sound and dropping traps for crabs and prawns. 

 Vancouver is gearing up for the FIFA World Cup of Soccer in June.  This is a great time for soccer and is also a great time to think about booking a coho salmon trip!   The last few years have been very good for coho in June and July in Vancouver and this year is looking like another solid year.  We have seen coho in Georgia Strait already this year on our charters.   

 Our Sidney location is one of the few places on the South Coast of BC that is open for hatchery chinook retention.   We have seen some nice fish over the last couple weeks and there will be good fishing opportunitis in the coming weeks.   Ling cod also open on May 1st, which is a great option to combine with a salmon fishing trip.    Our Sidney location is only minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and minutes from the Victoria International Airport.  If you are looking for a day trip or a multi day trip, come to Sidney, it is closer than you think!   Charter and package details here .  www.bonchovy.com/fishing-packages/vancouver-island-spring-salmon-package.html
