Sidney is a remarkable destination in Southern British Columbia. With the warmest climate in Canada, stunning natural beauty, and some of the calmest waters in British Columbia, salmon fishing with Bon Chovy is a year round affair. In fact, some of our best salmon fishing is in the winter months!
Based out of the Port Sidney Marina, our fishing trips have easy access to the Southern Gulf Island’s as well as Georgia and Haro Straits. Our fishery is consistent and we have the ability to target salmon every day of the year. When in season target bottomfish, specically ling cod as we have productive grounds very close to our dock. In addition to the sport fishing, we often set traps for spot prawns and Dungeness crabs, especially in the winter and spring.

Sidney is a productive area to fish in the winter months. Between the months of November and March, good numbers of feeding chinook salmon in the 5 to 20 pound range are found very close to our Sidney fishing charter dock. Not only is there salmon around in the winter, there is also spot prawns and dungeness crabs. We can drop traps on request!
