Vancouver Fishing Report Sept 4/12
It has been an interesting week of fishing! There was a really good wave of chinooks that came into local waters during the middle part of last week. Some boats did incredibly well of the Fraser Mouth and Vancouver Harbour! Just as things were looking really good for the long weekend, a big pod of killer whales moved in and dispersed the chinook salmon. Saturday was a tough day, but Sunday and Monday were a little more active!
The Fraser River approach areas will still be solid bets for the the next 10 days. There will be a wave of big white chinook in local waters any day now. There was good numbers further up the strait of Georgia over the last week, so they are coming!
In the middle of this month, the West Vancouver Chinook fishery will begin! It is one of our favourite fisheries as it only a 10 minute run from our Granville Island Fishing Charter location and our downtown Vancouver Fishing Charter location. We had some amazing chinook fishing in September and October off West Vancouver! Reserve your trip early to get the best tides! Have a look at this video we shot with Rick Clark of the World Fishing Network last fall!!!
